“Urgh, how did this even…” Kaito found himself uncomfortable, as he had somehow slept on the street for the last few hours and got himself a sore back by the time he woke up. He slowly rose to his feet and then realised he was surrounded by a small crowd of people, which made him even more confused. “Excuse me, do you know what happened to me and how I got here?” he asked sheepishly, half tempting to show off a bit of threatening ice magic to force the crowd to give him some space, thankfully they did once he rose up.
“Do you not remember? We all saw you falling from the sky like a comet and then then crashed here, honestly we thought you were dead since you seemed lifeless on your way down.” one of the townspeople explained to him, unfortunately that didn’t help much to answer his question.
“I remember now, I touched the crystal and now I’m here. Well they say curiosity killed the cat, but I say my current situation is close enough to that…” Kaito put a hand to his head as he tried to rid himself of a light headache from processing what happened. He did a quick look around the place, he didn’t recognise any of the buildings or people, but he did see a sign that said ‘Xantara’ which didn’t help.
“Thanks for answering, well I don’t know where I am, or recognise the place. Is there a place where I can gather some information? I would like as much as possible before I make my next move, it’s clear enough to me that I shouldn’t be here.” Kaito said before walking off down the street for clues to his whereabouts.
“Well I suggest you look around, there were a bunch of others like you falling from the sky too, maybe they know what happened.” the townsperson suggested as he pointed to the sky, yeah that was very similar to the meteor shower like display he saw and investigated. Maybe he could find another crystal to take him back, or a person in his same situation who knew what was going on better than he did.
“Right, thanks again!” Kaito replied, suddenly having the urge to run towards the falling stars in hurried anticipation. He hoped he’d find some clues, while he was used to travelling around alone, he at least knew where he was going or what goal he intended to accomplish, this was him literally being lost and that was unsettling.
