Roleplay Sample
Hayato poured over the larger books of the library, one by one, looking for answers. His icy eyes coldly stared down page after page as if trying to intimidate the information out of each one. However, by the grumpy look on his pale, platinum framed face, it was obviously a failed attempt. Normally, he was intelligent enough he didn't need to search through books for information. He picked out knowledge though listening and half was observing the world around him. It wasn't uncommon for the young man to sleep through his classes. So much of the information they were throwing out at him was stuff he had learned already and it bored him to hear it again. It wasn't like he couldn't study. When it came down to it, he was very good at learning new things. When he couldn't find the information he needed, Hayato became very irritable and snappy. It was usually best to leave him alone when he was like this. However, someone who didn't know this would naturally fall into the trap of disrupting him.
The platinum haired young man felt a tap on his shoulder and the hair on the back of his neck bristled as a wave of shock went through him. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?" He yelled before snapping his head around to stare down and possibly further scold the person.
The young girl that assisted the librarian was almost in tears before running away. To make matters worse, because he yelled, everyone was looking at him. With a sigh and a roll of his eyes, Hayato returned to his work. The tenth wanted help with his assignment so it was the duty of the right hand man to make sure he got whatever help he wanted. However, the young mafioso's conscience was starting to get to him. Ever since he agreed to be the right hand man of the Vongolia heir, he had been growing one. Maybe it was the effect Tsunayoshi had on the people around him or maybe it was because he finally had a friend he could tell anything to. His past, present, and future were not the brightest but being able to share his thoughts with someone who wouldn't judge him or try to use it against him meant something.
With a sigh, Hayato slammed his book shut. He pushed himself away from the table and stalked out, hands in his pockets. He found the startled girl crying in the hallway. She squeaked when she saw him, fear in her eyes as the school 'bad boy' approached. This was annoying, but if he wasn't the peace of mind he needed to help research for the tenth, he had to do it.
“Will you cut that out. I didn't mean to scare you. It annoys me when people bother me while I'm busy.” He paused for a moment. Hayato didn't like to apologize. In fact, the only person he usually apologized to was Tsuna. However, it was because of his influence that he even considered it. “Sorry.” It came out as a mumble before he stalked back into the library to continue his work.
Even though it wasn't a true apology, it somehow cleared whatever misgivings he had about the situation. Finally able to study in peace, he managed to find the small bit of information he needed. Writing it down, properly citing the source as he did so, he pushed the books to the side. Without a second thought he quickly left the library and rushed off to the tenth's house. He would be pleased that he found the proper scientific name for the platypus for Tsuna's report. In fact, Hayato himself was pleased. Another job well done for the right hand man of Vongolia's heir.
